 Cocktails are good every once in a while, but they can add a lot of calories to your diet and this is something that you do not want, when you want to control your weight or even lose a few pounds.  So keep on reading and find out how you can make some low calorie cocktails, right in your home.

What You Will Need:

You’ll only need a blender, a shaker, a strainer, some measuring cups and some colorful glasses and straws.  These are all things that anyone can find easily at their stores and they are all easy to use.

Ingredients:

The liquor will be the most important part here and you should remember to drink things like Vodka, which are clear liquors.  These tend to have a lot less calories and these are the ones you need to use.

Use diet soda or juice as mixers, as these also have less calories and will be perfect for your cocktail.  Not only are they better for controlling your weight, but they are also tasty and add a different flavor.  So go ahead and give these a try.

Some flavor drops, are also an excellent way to make your low calorie cocktails taste better and if you can find some sugar-less options it will be the better choice.

Ice is also a must have for any cocktail, so make sure that you have some pure water and that you use it to make some ice.  Use the blender to make the ice very small and you will be set off.

Getting Ready For Thanksgiving

A Healthy Recipe For Thanksgiving

Well, as you probably already know, it is almost Thanksgiving again and today, I want to tell you about a healthy recipe, which will make your Thanksgiving, even better!

Maple Glazed Carrots

4 lbs carrots, cut diagonally into 1/4 inch thick slices
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon grated peeled fresh ginger
3 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup dark pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
salt & black pepper, to taste
chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

In a 5-7 quart saucepan, combine carrots, water, ginger and 2
tablespoons butter.

Cover and cook on medium for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Then, uncover and cook 10 to 12 minutes or until liquid has
evaporated and carrots are almost tender.

Add maple syrup, vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon
freshly ground black pepper, and heat to boiling on medium-high.

Boil 8 to 10 minutes or until syrup is thick and carrots are tender
and coated with glaze, stirring frequently.

Remove pan from heat; stir in remaining 1 tablespoon butter.

Serve in a bowl and garnish with parsley.

Serves 10
